The gallery began its activities in 2017 in the basement of an apartment building on Jiří z Poděbrad Square. It was named after Toyen, a Czech-French painter who spent part of her creative life in the Žižkov district. The gallery presents contemporary Czech art, and its programme focuses mainly on Czech artists of the middle generation.
